According to Florida homeschool law, Florida home educators must complete some form of annual evaluation and submit it to their district home education office. These evaluations can be an annual standardized assessment (FSA, Iowa, Stanford, etc.), psychological and/or norm-referenced educational evaluations, or a portfolio evaluation completed by a certified teacher like myself.
Portfolio evaluations are simplest forms of evaluation, providing home educators with the most freedom and diversity in reporting their child’s progress!!
In simplest terms, all we need to see in an evaluation are: proof of progress, an activity log, and a quick interview with student (accommodations made for non-verbal students).
